Welcome to Five Star Puppy and Kitten Care
At Countryside Animal Clinics, we’re delighted to be a part of your journey as you welcome a new puppy or kitten into your family. From their first moments of warmth and innocence to their playful antics as they grow, we’re here to ensure they receive the best care and start in life. We welcome your calls for questions or concerns.
Veterinary Examination and Vaccination
It’s essential to prioritize your new furry friend’s health from the beginning. At around 8 weeks of age, we recommend bringing them in for their first veterinary examination and puppy or kitten vaccine. This crucial step helps boost their immunity and sets them on the right path to a healthy life.
Deworming and Nutritional Guidance
To protect against common parasites like hookworm and roundworm, we recommend deworming all puppies and kittens between 4 to 6 weeks of age. Additionally, as they transition to solid foods formulated for young pets, we’ll provide guidance on proper nutrition and feeding schedules to ensure they receive the essential nutrients they need during this critical growth period. Most puppies and kittens need to be fed four to 6 times each day. There is nothing wrong with baby fat.
Special Offer for Young Pets
To ensure your puppy or kitten gets off to the proper start, we offer a special discount on the first visit and health examination for pets 12 weeks of age or younger. It’s our way of helping you provide the best care for your new family member while also ensuring their health and well-being.
Socialization and Training Tips
Socialization is key during the early weeks of your puppy’s or kitten’s life. We recommend keeping them with their mom and littermates until they’re 6 to 8 weeks old to ensure balanced social development. At 8 weeks, they should join their new home. Their critical social imprint times are 3 weeks to 3 months. We’ll provide guidance on exposing them to different environments, people, children, and pets to help them adjust and thrive. Please feel free to call if you have any questions or concerns.
Central Bark Park: A Safe Haven for Playtime
Our private dog park, Central Bark Park, provides a safe and fun environment for your puppy to socialize with other pets and people. Daily interactions with new experiences, both inside and outside the home, help them become well-adjusted and confident adults. Learn more about Central Bark Park. Crate Training for Comfort and Security
Crate training is strongly encouraged from a young age to prevent separation anxiety as an adult and ensure your puppy or kitten feels safe and secure when left alone. Our team will provide guidance and tips to make the crate a positive and comforting space for your pet. A fluffy warm crate and toy can be your puppy’s safe place, now and as an adult.
